Well, I dare say that Marlie Katherine Crandall has conquered what I consider one of her top 5 most difficult tasks in her short 2 years of life . . . . I believe she is potty trained. To say that I am proud of her (and patting myself on the back) would be an understatement. She has learned a lot of things so far, but I think we feel as parents that this was our first big milestone to show that we are pretty damn good at this parenting thing, and we actually know what we're doing . . . or at least can produce the results that make it look like we know what we're doing!
Now, I'm not 100% sure what the measurements are to be considered "trained", but I think we're good. For at least 10 days she has been dry all day, she does 1 and 2 in the potty, she wakes up from naps and in the morning all dry, and she doesn't want to wear her Pull Ups anymore, only big girl panties!!
We went out yesterday in public for the first time in big girl panties. We saw a lot of potties, but didn't have any accidents! And we had an emergency stop on the side of the road to pee pee in the grass . . .but still, no accidents!! So today we went out in panties, to pick out some more panties, and we were cool . . . I'm still a little nervous about nap time and bed time, but she doesn't want the dang Pull Ups on at nap time, and it takes coaxing to get them on at bedtime . . .so I guess we'll eliminate them soon?!
I should've known she would master this like she does everything else . . . and I knew as soon as I bought a big case of Pull Ups, she would decide she didn't need them anymore. Guess we'll save them for Sam, who I will assume will be just as easy to potty train!!
My goal was always not to have 2 kids in diapers at the same time . . . . we made it with only an 8 week overlap . . . I'll take it!! Ahhh . . . the small victories in life that make me so very happy!
