11 Hours and Ice Cream Cones

Just a quick note to document the excitement in our life right now . . . Samantha has moved up to 11 hrs of sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In reading Marlie's baby book, she was at 10hrs at 3 1/2 months and moved up to 12 right after 4 months (and the introduction of cereal). Sam has moved right onto 11! We've been at 9 hrs for about a week. She has been doing 7:30pm - 4:30am . . . . but this morning she didn't wake up until after 6:30am!! And she's a schedule keeper, so I don't think we'll be going back to that silly 9hrs!

Of course, it's somewhat bittersweet seeing that I now get up at 4am to get the work day rolling - but I'll take advantage and sleep in on the weekends!! And I would much rather get up at 4am to do a little work rather than get up that early just to get myself ready and 2 girls ready for day care! So 4am it is :)

I am sooooo glad that the girls are getting Daddy's ability to be relaxed and sleep . . . and people thought we wouldn't get lucky twice in a row . . . The pic of Sam is from last weekend!

Marlie and I kicked off our weekend by heading out for a special Mommy and Marlie outing - we went for Marlie's first ice cream cone. Normally a neat freak, I can certainly appreciate the wonderfulness that is childhood. So while the people at the table next to us were stuffing napkins in their son's pants and shirt so he wouldn't drip ice cream, they sat in horror looking at Marlie as I let her loose with her cone. To say that some ice cream dripped would be a dramatic understatement. And the only thing funnier than the other mom offering me napkins like I cared was the look on the grandmother's face when I said she had her bathing suit on underneath so I would just go home and dunk her in the pool :0 hahahaha It was a fabulous event.

I am impressed with you! Letting her get ice cream all over herself!?! I am not sure I would be able to do that, great restraint!
