Harry the Cat

I feel like the title of this blog should be "Another one bites the dust" or maybe "Cutting the last tie to my young adult life"!!

Unfortunately, at the ripe old age of 13, Harry the Cat had to leave us. He decided that his litter box was not the only appropriate place to go to the bathroom . . . and he, just like P-Nut, got 3 strikes before having to get out.

So Harry has gone to live on a beautiful 12 acre farm in Crossville, thanks to the help of a friend. He will have 2 other kitty friends. This is the story that I had to explain to Marlie, and she seemed to understand that he would have more fun outside . . . her only question being "Will he have a barn and sheep friends?".

When P-Nut left it was like saying good-bye to a whole life that existed, that of one before children! I feel that with Harry's departure it closes another chapter - I guess the one of figuring out what it means to be an adult. I have lost a lot of friends over the past few years, most by choice, but I think Harry is the last one from that stage of life . . . the true growing up phase . . . and truthfully, I am okay with it . . . mostly because Marlie is okay with it - if she had cried, this would probably be an entirely different blog :)

Peace out Harry the Cat . . . . your Garfield-esque nature will be missed . . .

Maybe now he'll get some exercise. Or not. I can envision him just laying about in the grass while all the animals frolic around him.
