Almost 48 Hrs . . . and a little rant

Daddy had Thursday and Friday off this week, so we got to see him for almost 48 whole hours!! And now he's gone again . . .

We went out for an early dinner and ice cream Friday night before Jay left to head back to Nashville. The difference of parenting the 2nd child - Marlie had her first ice cream cone @ 2, Sam was having some bites of Marlie's last night at 11months! A little less rigid :) Anyway, Jayson will be back next Friday night to see Mom after surgery and for Marlie's birthday party.

First side note - please keep my Mom in your thoughts (or prayers if that's your thing). She goes in for surgery on June 12th @ 5:30am. The procedure should be complete by 3pm and hopefully will go fabulously. She is having the top cervical disks of her back operated on, posterior and anterior, to hopefully alleviate some of the pressure that is occurring on her spinal column. They are hoping this will take away some pain and help her walk. To give you an idea of the gravity of the surgery - this makes the double knee replacement and the 2 back fusions look like a simple band aid. I will be in the hospital all day on Friday while Marlie is at school and Sam is with Grandma and Grandpa . . .

Second side note - Jayson is loving the new place so far. And after they decided to not pay him for the rest of his vacation pay in an attempt to screw him over one more time, our days with O'Charley's are done!!!! You know, I live my life with no regrets, because there is always a lesson to take out of a situation - but I have to stretch to find that in Jayson's time at O'Charley's. Out of all of the restaurants that we have ever worked for, and we worked for some shady people in our past (e.g. Dan and Kenny who are in jail for federal tax evasion now!), O'Charley's has by far been the worst company I have ever seen. Big surprise - Jayson did the appropriate thing and turned in his 2 week notice as soon as he got a job offer, but of course, they decided to tell him not to work it out and let him go with no pay - I am holding back the "I told you so" about not giving a notice. But I suppose that might be the lesson, although I like not to be that cynical - "do the right thing and still get the shaft". So . . . 65 hr work weeks, crack heads, slackers, providing proof of hotel reservations to be able to go on vacation, people that think it's appropriate to call and text at all hours and on days off because of an inability to do their job, days off spent working - GOOD RIDDANCE and may you get the Karma that you deserve in life! That is all :)
