Catching Up

Last weekend I left our camera out at Grandma's house, hence there being no posts - because really, what's a post without pics?!?!

So here are a few pics of the girls just being their silly selves . . .at Grandma's, at the Farmer's Market, at the park - all of our hangouts :)

And for a few updates . . . .

Marlie - a fabulous big sister of course, but she has now discovered that the characters she sees in books are more fun on tv - thus we have entered the cartoon phase . . . and of course, as I should've expected - who is her favorite character!?!? None other than Dora the Explorer! UGH! My only request was that we learn a little more English before attempting Spanish . . . but I have relented. AND I will maintain that Dora comes on only twice a day in 30 min increments - there is no such thing as a Dora dvd!!!! But other than that, she is fabulous - top 2 words right now "probably" and "actually" eg. "Probably I would like waffles for breakfast . . . actually, I think I would like french toast sticks" - and that is Marlie Katherine . . . .

Samantha - just busted out 4 new teeth (the top row) for a total of 6!! Walking up a storm and playing her current favorite game, dump out the bucket and put all items back in bucket - and repeat . . . We chucked the bottle a few weeks ago, and next to go will be the pacifier - it only gets brought out at naptime and bedtime right now - but we are waiting for Daddy to come home to share in the joy of that milestone :)

Jayson - FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY - he left this morning and has only 9 more days in Nashville . . . we will not see him again until the END . . . and it is near!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But he is doing a great job and loving the challenge and the company . . . we are so very proud of him!

Jen - what can really be said. I suppose my own personal achievement is that I have almost completed a 10 week course in being the single parent of 2 toddlers while maintaining a full time job (working from home while parenting said toddlers at the same time) . . . my Mary Kay business has been somewhat static through this, but that's the give and take of marriage, right?! I will be doing my share of the taking as soon as the restaurant is opened and settled. And in the end, my sanity is still in tact . . .I think . . . or as much as it was there to begin with?! Maybe not?

So . . . June was extremely intense and July was just nuts . . . I am gonna go for August being some resemblance of normal???? With a goal of calm and peaceful by Halloween? Yea right . . :)
