The Decision - 2 years later

I woke up this morning and noticed the date on the calendar as we were getting ready for school. I kept wondering why the date stuck out in my mind - a birthday or anniversary?? And it finally hit me - this day 2 years ago was the day we left Minnesota to come back to Tennessee.

It was the 2nd time that Jayson and I decided to make a 1,000 mile move. While we were leaving with everything we went with (a U-Haul, Harry the Cat, 2 cars, and no jobs!!) - we had made a few additions, mostly Marlie and Sota :) We said "see you later" to some, "good-bye" to others, and there were most certainly a few "good riddance" waves in there.

So at 4am we packed it up and hit the road . . . though we were only on the road for 45 minutes when Harry the Cat peed in his carrier and Marlie projectile vomitted all over the back seat! But 8 hours later we got to Princeton, IL to see our best friends. We spent 2 of the best days of my life there. At that point, everything that we owned was sitting in a U-Haul in the street. But we had our little family all together - and somehow it just didn't matter that we didn't have jobs or a savings account! And then on to Knoxville to start a new chapter of our life . . .

I posted pics of our 2 biggest accomplishments since we arrived back in Knoxville - Samantha Michelle and our first home! A close third would be Jayson's accomplishments in his career over the past 2 years, especially with his current position - and me starting my business!!

People usually evaluate decisions after the outcome with a simple "good" or "bad" - I think that for this decision we will place a check in the good column.
