It has to be said again - I am amazed at Marlie!
Yesterday we were looking at some flash cards that Samantha found at Grandma's house and we were talking about words that rhyme (we are still working on that). Then there were some cards with arrows pointing up, down, left, and right. So we talked about direction - and when we said left and right I compared it to an episode of "Go Diego" (ugh, I cringed as I wrote that - but I guess it's a lesson to learn -you can't pick your child's fave characters . . . swallow and breathe, and one day it will be friends not cartoons!!!). Anyway, we talked about the episode and left and right.
Well - on the way home last night Marlie asked "We turn right to go home? Or left?" - so I said right. And then it was "Our neighborhood is on the right . . .(driving time) . . . but our house is on the left". So this morning I had Jay test her to see if she was just using words and it was a coincidence - NOPE - she's got it - she knows left and right (up and down were already there). And she even knows "Left Hand makes an "L""!!!!!!!
While I would like to say that I don't know what age most kids know this - it would be a total lie - because I immediately Googled it, sure that this had to be early recognition - and they say between 3-5 - so good, we're in it! So proud though . . . .
And obviously you can see in Sam's pic where the "Drool" part of the title came from. Still hanging out at 6 teeth . . .so I think she's gonna bust out 4 at once! :)
