Well, we had a good year plus streak going with Home Depot . . . but restaurant openings, weddings, and Halloween threw some kinks in those plans . . .but we are back in the game! And the bonus - Daddy got to go for the first time this year!!!
So we had a fun time this weekend with Grandma and Grandpa . . . minus the stress of staging the house and getting everything situated. Wanna play a fun game?! Try keeping all of the toys up, the kitchen clean while dinner is in the oven, and kids out of the pics, while your realtor (and neighbor and friend) tries to take pics of your whole house!!! Oh, and have 2 giant AeroBeds in your bonus room because family is staying with ya :)
And after all those fun times we headed out to Grandma's on Sunday WITH DADDY!!! Are you getting the theme and the excitement of actually having Daddy around for normal events!?!?!??! We helped Grandma finish putting lights on her tree - and Marlie helped hang a few ornaments thanks to the thrill of "climbing the ladder"!
And what other treat would you have when trimming the tree - popsicles?! If you knew the sheer wattage that my Mother's tree put out, you would think it was appropriate . . . . Mom likes to use C-9 Outdoor lights on her tree because they are the "only lights that are bright enough" - forget the fact that she uses LITERALLY 20+ strands and several extension cords (National Lampoon's anyone?). Don't worry - it's been this way since I was a baby and we have never burned down a house . . . . yet . . . .
And to make it feel like Christmastime . . . we even got a few inches of snow on Saturday!!! Marlie may have been born in Minnesota, but clearly she has a little bit of Southern in her - hence the rake instead of a shovel :)
