Why wouldn't I expect this totally awesome little girl . . .
- To come home and very matter-of-factly ask to go through the lunchline at school because she wanted to try something different - and when I counter with the cost factor, she offers to either take money out of her piggy bank or asks if there are possibly some chores she could do to earn the money to get her lunch?! I can't argue with a logical thought out request . . . so we will try it tomorrow - but I'm totally not making this a habit - and we'll see what she chooses left to her own devices!
- To bring home a progress report with nothing but perfect marks
- To bring a new phonics workbook to dinner at the OC tonight with friends, and very happily enjoy sitting and completing all 30 pages of it . . . with all correct answers . . . because that was way cooler than coloring . . .
- To be very excited about going to pack up her Grandma's house - partly because she's excited about her moving . . . partly because she is my daughter and the sick thrill of organizing and packing gets her going - for the record, she has announced that she will help with everything, but her 2 most important jobs are gathering the pictures and sorting the toys!
- To nearly give her father a heart attack to the point where he has asked me if I am going to start home schooling when she very simply came home and announced that she has a boyfriend :) ahahahahahahaha I totally remember my kindergarten boyfriend - Stephen Cole - he was very smart, always wore button up shirts, and his awesome red curly hair was the coolest thing I had ever seen!
- To put me in awe of her most days . . . she is such a caring older sister, a loving little person, and she is wise beyond her years at 5 years old . . . I love her more than words!

HAHAHA that reminded me of my kindergarten boyfriend - Mark Ebbert - who liked to show his affection by hitting me on the head with a pencil. I loved it.
When I read about Marlie I always feel like she's a mini you! So smart and just an awesome person. You always had well thought out ideas and it sounds like Miss Marlie is the same way. :-)
I'm laughing about the boyfriend. Darren is already convinced our nameless daughter will never date or marry. LOL
