Today - Some Things I Learned

  • People suck at driving! Like I didn't already know that! UGH! On the way home from the library we were stopped at a stop sign. The car in front of me went - so I looked left and started to go as well . . . oh, my fault - because they started to go but must have changed their minds because they actually then stopped in the middle of the road - just because :) There were no cars coming or anything . . . so I barely touched their bumper - but oh well! The dude got out and took a picture of my insurance card with his IPhone and said "Have a great day" and I was just standing there and he was already back in his car and on his way. Ok . . . so I guess I will wait for the insurance to call me since he has the same company. You couldn't see anything on either car . . . weird . . .
  • If you're having a bad day - like you rear end an idiot - if you blow on a 7 month old baby boy's tummy, his laugh will take all of your worries away :)
  • Samantha is my quiet genius. Now, don't get me wrong - she is not my quiet child . . . but when it comes to her intelligence, she prefers to quietly bust it out. She has almost completed her 200 page preschool workbook . . . she sat down and did over 10 pages by herself - IN THE PHONICS SECTION!!! She knows over half of the alphabet at sight, 1-20 at sight, but up to 30 in rote counting - colors and shapes are completely knocked. So my question is - if they expect a 5 yr old to score a 40-50 on the initial kindergarten benchmark testing (Marlie scored a 90) and Sam could score a 40 at 3 1/2, should I stop teaching her?!?! After the new year, I guess we're moving on to writing . . . even though she can already do A, I, O - and she will tell you (because her sister told her) "I can write most of my vowels" . . . wow . . .
  • My craft supply is pretty awesome - if you can keep 4 girls ages 3-6 entertained with crafts for 45 minutes, that is an AMAZING accomplishment! Sweet!
