17 Years . . . That’s A Lot of Beers

We have finally hit it . . . the kids are all of age where they can come together as a group (with a little adult supervision), and have fun without us. So we took the opportunity to leave for 24hrs and celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. We went down to Cripple Creek and stayed in the Colorado Grande (it has 7 rooms - HUGE hotel). We had an awesome dinner at The Steakhouse, some fun playing video poker and the penny slots, and toured the Ice Festival this morning.

We’ve taken the kids to the ice festival the previous 2 years and said we should come spend a night some time . . . I love that most about us - our plans sound crazy, or just sound like people dreaming . . . but we make them happen . . . every time 😎

The icing on the cake was coming home to 4 happy kids who didn’t burn down the house . . . they made Valentine crepes for breakfast, built forts, and did the dishes . . . I don’t think I ever dreamed this day was possible . . . and that’s what makes it awesome . . . so amazing that I couldn’t even imagine it . . . 17 years down . . . 33 to go . . . and I’m pretty sure every year will just be better than the one before.

To top off our anniversary celebration, we had our beautiful drive home through the mountains . . . and CO never disappoints in the high country . . . Never seen these beautiful animals this far east. . . But got to see a couple giant moose on the drive . . . when you see a group of people on the side of the road in CO, you pull over - because guaranteed there is wildlife!
