Cereal

Had to do 2 posts in one day . . .

I realized that I hadn't taken any pics of Sam eating cereal, so we took some at lunch today.

Cereal is another one of those hot topics where people are widely divided in parenting. The older women say just put it in their bottle and they'll sleep through the night. Our moms say to do it whenever the bottle just isn't cutting it. Modern opinions say to wait until they are 6 months, 4 at the earliest, and even then they should meet a list of criteria.

I am pretty basic - when you max out at 32oz of formula (8-10 feedings for breastfed babies) it's time to roll with the cereal. I did not know this with Marlie and had her eating 48oz of formula a day! So Sam was sleeping through the night 12hrs on 32 oz of formula . . .then after a couple weeks she started waking up in the middle of the night wanting that extra 8oz. Time for cereal.

So we've spent a week getting into the cereal routine and we are there now. You can't look at these pics and tell me she isn't happy to be getting the extra food?!?! She even helps wipe her chin :)
