The Big #3

Since tomorrow is going to be a crazy day of work and mommy-ness, I am going to go ahead and post Marlie's birthday entry.

3 years ago today at this time in the evening, I was 31hrs into a 38hr induction that I was sure would end with a naturally born baby boy . . . instead, I had a c-section that yielded my beautiful baby girl - Marlie Katherine.

I look at her and can't believe that she is already a little girl - no more baby and no more toddler. And every day she amazes me with how smart she is and what a great big sister she is. As Samantha is sprouting 2 teeth at the same time, she is being a little fussy. Leave it up to big sister to be the one to calm her down. Tonight Sam didn't want to go down to bed - Marlie gave her a blankie and stuffed animal straight off her bed and no joke, Samantha went down in the crib without a peep, clutching the bunny and blanket from her big sister . . . .

I sit in awe of my daughter more often than not - and while I hate to think how quickly she is growing up and turning into such a little person - I can't help but see the future and know what a kind, smart, and generous person she is going to be.

And since we're kinda missing Daddy around here - I thought it appropriate to put up her pics with Daddy throughout her 3 fun filled years.

Happy #3 Marlie Katherine!
