We just hung out this weekend and didn't do much - it was FABULOUS!!!!
The girls and I took a quick trip up to Pigeon Forge to stop in at some sales at Carters and Children's Place - and of course did some grocery shopping - held a Mary Kay class - visited Mom in the hospital - and enjoyed the laziness of it all :)
Marlie is doing great in school. Her current fave question is "What time is it outside?" So we're going to start focusing on numbers so we can tell time. And praise all that is holy - her 2 favorite phrases right now . . .wait for it . . . ."I sure will" and "I would love to do you a favor"!!!!!!!!!! And her big purchase of the weekend is a Tigger toothbrush - an battery powered one. If I would have had any clue of the effect of this thing, I would've purchased it long ago!!!!
Samantha is days away from walking (she is doing her crazy ape-walk right now with her hands on the floor, but walking on her feet - it's hilarious) and she is finishing her last bit of formula tomorrow. I've been giving her a little milk here and there for the past few days, but the doc wanted to hold off due to the Intussusception business - but I think it's safe now, so I'm making the switch. She still only has 3 teeth (Marlie was at 8 by this point) - and the thing is, they're not even a normal 3 - she has 2 on the bottom and then one of her top side teeth - it's so funny looking!!! Her favorite game right now is to empty whatever she sees - her blankets out of the drawer, clothes out of the armoire, sister's underwear and socks - today we graduated to the toy box (see pic).
Now this picture is interesting and I feel the whole 5 minutes leading up to it portray a vision of the future. As Sam was taking all of the toys out of the box Marlie yells "Mommy! Sammie is making a mess!! We need to clean this up please." Samantha laughs loudly at the fact that she has managed to get her sister in a tizzy. Marlie almost cannot handle the fact that she is just making a mess for no reason at all . . . and then she realizes that Sam has emptied the toybox (aka the ottoman) and that she can do her favorite thing - climb in and play. Note that Marlie loves to sit in the ottoman but does not like the actual act of emptying the toys because it makes things messy . . . . it will be interesting to see how this teamwork and distinct character difference plays out in 15 years . . . .
So now we're ready for another fabulous week - only 4 more days until Daddy comes home for a visit . . . .
