A Little Catch Up

Let's start with Friday . . . Marlie was doing some practicing with her end of the year testing requirements. She has to be able to group numbers, the corresponding number word, and the number of objects in sequence. She blew through zero-ten like it was nothing - the marshmallows probably helped! I figured marshmallows made a good object for grouping - and yes, I let them eat them - Sam only got to eat ones off the numbers that she could correctly identify - and Marlie graciously let her take multiple turns since Sam went for 1-5 and Marlie did 6-10 :) Now we are going to add 11-20! And speaking of counting, she can now count to 100 by ones, fives, and ten.Saturday morning these 3 awesome kiddos and I headed out for a fun packed day!
We started by going to the fall festival at Marlie's school. We played a few games, bid on some silent auction items, did some time in the bounce houses, and naturally, got tattoos!! Gone are the days of good ole' face painting . . . now they have airbrush tattoo booths . . . Marlie wanted a heart on her wrist and an M on her calf . . . oh I had flashes to the future . . .
Then we headed to Nashville to pick up our fabulous friend Cecilia who flew in from MN for a visit. Next up was a quick change to costumes to head to a Halloween party at the park! Samantha is Dorothy and Marlie is Jessie (from Toy Story) - and we will be sure to get a picture on Halloween that includes Evan (aka Toto or Spike depeding on who you ask).
Sunday we cheered on the Vikings - I don't normally do this, but against the Packers, I will go for the Vikes. Plus I am really liking Christian Ponder . . . and if I wasn't married to the love of my life, Jared Allen is totally my backup choice! ha! So we put all 3 kiddos into their Vikings gear and headed to Old Chicago to watch part of the game and grab dinner. Did I mention that the girls LOVE Cecilia?!
2 unfortunate things happened today . . . the first one being we had to take CC to the airport so she could head back to MN. The second one . . . that Halloween party that I mentioned above - EVERY SINGLE family there had one or more members of the family come down with a wicked stomach bug over the last 3 days . . . so naturally, at 6pm tonight as I'm putting Evan down, Marlie comes busting up the stairs that Sam is standing in the hallway throwing up A LOT . . . so far we've had 5 puking sessions . . . it's going to be a long night . . . most especially since I am starting to not feel so hot . . . shoot me right now . . . who wants to bet that Marlie comes out unscathed?!?! My only fear is Evan, especially since he's supposed to take his last round of antibiotics tomorrow for the ear infection he just suffered . . . gross . . .

Dude that's awesome that airbrush tattoos are the thing with kids nowadays. I also really hope the throwing up is kept to a minimum in volume and family members.
