The Good Kind of Busy

You know - there is that kind of busy where life just gets too hectic and you feel wiped out?!  But then there is the good kind of busy where you have just enough to keep you going and have fun - and you don't have time to grab a camera and blog about it, but you're still caught up on laundry - yea, I define my life in interesting terms, I know.  Anyway - that's where we have been this week with Grandpa in town from Minnesota.

Tuesday Marlie got to go golfing with her Daddy and Grandpa for the first time.  She had a blast and actually made it all 18 holes!
Wednesday the girls got to go and see the new Disney movie Brave.  Evan and I stayed home - we are not huge fans of movie theaters :)

Thursday was spent with a doctor's visit for well child visits for the girls:

Marlie Katherine at 6 - 47lbs and 47in
Samantha Michelle at 4 - 34lbs and 40in (lagging about 3lbs and 1in on her sister at that age)

Both girls tested perfect on hearing and 20/20 on vision.  Each one has grown 3 inches since this time last year . . . so they're both healthy and growing well . . . what more would you want to hear?!  Well - Samantha would've liked to have heard that no shots were involved - but we went ahead and did her shots now since she is entering public preschool (we waited until 5 with Marlie . . . not that I can say I remember why we waited).

After the doc it was off for some pool time . . . dinner at Chick Fil A . . . and then pajama story time at the library!
They did a little song where some of the kids were picked to volunteer . . . Marlie was picked as the princess (naturally!).
And Grandpa and Daddy (in the background there against the wall) had to film the whole thing on their IPhones! ha!
And last night we said goodbye to Grandpa and all the fun of the week . . . but we kept up our routine and went for the summer program at the library today . . . where both girls got to lead a song at the front :)  Marlie's program was over about 10 minutes before Sam's, so she joined us (that's why she's a foot taller than everyone else!).
I have no idea what we are doing this weekend aside from some grocery shopping and $1 flip flops at Old Navy of course!  I can't stand those things, but the 2 chics in the pic above burn through flip flops in the summer time . . . so we will go get our 5 pairs!  I just can't believe June is over already.  The birthday madness is done and the heat has set in finally - 108 today in case you're wondering!  July will feel a little longer - less plans and more heat . . . but that's just fine with me . . . because when July is over, I will only have 1 more week until school starts and I send BOTH of my baby girls off!!!
