15 Month Stats

Sam went in for her 15 month checkup today . . .

22lb 8oz (50th percentile)
33.5 in (95th percentile)

So basically she is tall and skinny just like Marlie. Funny thing though - when I went to put her stats in the baby book, her 15 month match Marlie's 12 month almost exactly . . . maybe that's why I have all of these pants that I thought would fit, but don't!! It looks like you don't know what size clothes your kid wears when they have to have the length for their torso, but they are skinny and have no legs! Begin operation find cute tights and skirts :)

What is new with Samantha??

• She knows body parts (eyes, nose, feet, head, and of course, belly button!)
• A few words . . . I find it a rather disturbing commentary on my household that one of her 4 words is "Dora"
• She went to an allergist last month and goes back in a few weeks - she isn't allergic to any one thing, just has allergic dermatitis and eczema that only shows itself on her face :) That's been super fun . . . we say that she is basically allergic to life if it's not her way
  
• We are almost there with a spoon . . .sooooo close
• Sam has established and banked the knowledge that crayons are for coloring - markers are still a work in progress . . .
• We've attempted some signs - but really we only use "more" and "thank you" - and if you think about it, at 1, what else do you need??
• I know there are a million other things that are new and noteworthy, but I will end with this - each night as we head to bed we say "It is time for bed - say good night" and Samantha will walk around to everyone in the room and give them a big hug and then blow kisses on her way out of the room (only Marlie gets an actual kiss - it's a sister thing) - and every night as I watch this I think to myself "if I teach my daughters nothing else, at least I have given them a concept of love and kindess"
