Be prepared for picture overload! Evan LOVES cars . . . specifically GTOs thanks to Grandpa!
Grandma and the girls
Marlie put on her jewelery and busted out her guitar for a little show before the party (this was of course after she woke up in the middle of the night screaming in pain that ear was hurting - she hit up the doc at 8am before the party and naturally, she's winding out her illness with an ear infection - but it didn't keep her down too long!)Samantha also dolled up for the party - do you think they have enough bracelets? Nope - no such thing!
Marlie had to show Evan how to properly use his car . . . the girls backed off a little after we told them that Evan was going to open their presents on their birthday! ha! Sometimes they just love to help their little brother a little too much . . .
Evan had to nap a little in the midst of the party - so we hung out and enjoyed the weather
Played a little baseball . . .
And then there was cake . . .well, a cupcake anyway!
There were happy moments and not to so happy moments . . .
In the end, Evan thought we were all idiots because we wanted him to smash this cake . . . and all he wanted was to use his manners and have a fork!Or any other means necessary to eat the cake without getting frosting on his fingers :)
It was an awesome day/weekend spent with our family celebrating! We go for the 1 year checkup on Tuesday, and I will do a full post full of the awesome things that Evan is doing now!! Right now, I am still in awe of the fact that my baby is 1 . . . I can't even fathom that it's been a full year since he entered our lives and completed our family . . . we seriously love this little guy!
