Day 1 - Downtown Disney

We decided to spend Sunday recovering from the car and just went to Downtown Disney for the day.  Unfortunately, this was also the start of the trip without Grandpa.  He ended up going to the ER on Sunday and wasn't released from the hospital until Wednesday due to severe bronchial issues - it sucked!

Downtown Disney has a lot of fun shops and restaurants. We picked up some stuff at the world's largest Disney store and also enjoyed the Lego store as well.

The girls built their own Lego people . . . and snatched up a few new sets too.
 Lego figures - totally amazing!
Sam and the Dwarfs - all Legos!
This was another toy shop - you could go in and pick out all of these special Potato Head accessories in one part of the store.  We stuffed a lot in a box!! Marlie also made herself a Disney charm bracelet at this store.
This was only cool because they hadn't met the real deal yet :) This was inside a pin store - apparently trading pins is a big thing at Disney now. Well, at Christmas when Grandma and Grandpa told them they were going to Disney they gave them each a lanyard with 2 pins.  We added a few when we got there and then Marlie got into the trading thing . . . and then Grandpa got into the pins too . . . it was fun.  One of the people suggested when we got home to cover a corkboard in Disney fabric and then put the pins on it . . . I will get there sometime before the end of summer.
 More statues
A carousel ride - and you can see the restaurant we ate lunch at in the background - Earl of Sandwhich - AWESOME, but super crowded!!!
 Grandma and Evan
And this is pretty much what we got if we ever tried to put Evan in a pic - stand still?  Yeah right!
So that's the end of Day 1 . . . one of the only days it didn't rain while we were there :)
