I Don't Know If I am Ready

In theory, it sounded like a good idea to try and get Samantha into the public preschool they offer here. It's only offered in a few schools - and at Marlie's school there are 2 classes with 10 kids per class. I was told there was no way she would get in, but I decided to give it a shot. We meet none of the requirements for priority - low income, military, ESL, or documented learning disabilities . . . But somehow, she made it in - we received the letter the other day. I had a split second of excitement until it hit me that she will be gone for 5 hours every day . . . It will be great for her socially (I am pretty convinced that she won't learn too much that she doesn't already know) - but I don't know if I am ready . . . But she sure is . . .
She is so excited that last night she and Marlie were playing "Pre K" - seriously, they had her backpack fitted (I found a toddler princess one on clearance for $2 a while back) and they used their kitchen food to pack a lunch for her.  And she is also now very seriously wanting to practice colors and numbers to get ready for school . . . like I said, she's not going to learn much book-wise, but it will be a good experience for her.

Why did I think this was a good idea?!?!  Why hasn't someone invented a pause button on life yet?!?!  2 babies going to school. . . I think I will just squeeze the 3rd one for the next few years.

Congrats on Sam getting in! Life is going too fast. I still remember when you were pregnant with her at Tina's house. Wasn't that yesterday?

It will be hard (like me with Stella in daycare) but you are totally right, it's going to be great for her socially.

Colt goes two days a week for five hours a day. Its amazing how fast those five hours go! Sometimes I think its not long enough :)
